The 2024 Polar en séries prize celebrates literary production in the world of French-speaking thrillers by highlighting works and recognizing their potential for adaptation into a television series. Designed in collaboration with the SCELF – French language editors’s civil society– the prize is based on a call for applications launched from publishing houses specializing in crime fiction. Of the 55 applications received, 6 works running for the prize were selected by a pre-selection committee made up of members of Quais du Polar, Initiative Film and Ciné Fabrique.

This pre-selection tends to bring together very different works representing the diversity of the thriller genre, and systematically integrating a graphic novel, and when the applications are suitable, a children’s novel. / Young Adult. The 6 books running in competition are evaluated by an experts committee, made up of crime novels and audiovisual professionals, agreeing themselves in deliberation on the awarded book of Polar en séries 2024.

The 2024 Polar en série prize award ceremony took place on Friday 5th of April at 12 p.m., as part of Polar Connection. The 6 works in the selection were presented in the form of pitches by the publishers, prior to the announcement of the winner by the jury. It is an opportunity to establish links between publishing houses and authors, particularly those looking for projects.
