READERS' PRIZE QUAIS DU POLAR / LE FIGARO

The 10 readers who are members of the jury of the Quais du Polar readers’ prize, in partnership with Le Figaro, have chosen the best French-language crime novel of the year, from a selection made by the festival’s partner booksellers.

Amateur readers of comic books were able to vote online to designate the winners of the prize from the selection established by the bookstore Expérience, a historical partner of the festival.
QUAIS DU POLAR YOUTH PRIZE / CITY OF LYON
The Arsènes, The Key to the Three Jewels by Bertrand Puard (Éditions Poulpe Fictions)
The winner was chosen by a jury of 8 classes of CM1/CM2, accompanied by the AFEV Book Ambassadors.
POLAR PRIZE OF THE LIBRARIANS OF THE CITY AND METROPOLIS OF LYON
The Wrath of S.A. Cosby, translated by Pierre Szczeciner (Sonatine Editions)
Quais du Polar has joined forces with the Municipal Libraries of the City and Metropolis of Lyon to organize a new edition of this prize. Invested in the festival thanks to meetings, events and enhancement of the collections, the librarians made a selection of crime novels among their favorites of the year, and rewarded their favorite title published between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023.
POLAR AND JUSTICE PRIZE QUAIS DU POLAR / LYON JUDICIAL COURT / LIBÉRATION
Daniel’s Book by Chris De Stoop, translated by Anne-Laure Vignaux (Globe Editions)
Created with the Judicial Court of Lyon and in partnership with Libération, the Polar and Justice Prize is awarded to a literary work of non-fiction – investigation, true-crime, testimony – with a link to justice and news items. The jury is made up of magistrates from the Lyon judicial court and legal professionals, as well as a journalist from Libération, a representative of Quais du Polar and a guest of honour.
THRILLER SERIES / SCELF PRIZE
SkilledFast (volumes 1, 2, 3) by Hachin (New Hydra)
For the tenth consecutive year, the prize rewards a French-language crime novel, thriller or thriller for its own qualities and its potential to be adapted into an audiovisual series. It was created with the support of the SCELF – Société civile des éditeurs de langue française, as part of the professional program Polar Connection, to promote links between literature and audiovisual.

The Black Novel, a French History by Natacha Levet (Presses Universitaires de France)
In tribute to Claude Mesplède (publisher, critic, historian, crime fiction enthusiast and fellow traveller of the festival), this prize rewards each year a work that contributes to a better knowledge of the crime genre, in the form of essays, historical works, correspondence, documents, investigations, translations, etc.
